John McKay is Principal + Lead Consultant for M47. He developed the consultancy when he saw a need to help companies with services that are often lacking. John cut his teeth working for some of the largest construction companies, equipment rental houses, and full-service traffic control providers in the country. He benefited at the beginning of his career from an operations management training program that allowed him to see things in clear, precise order; one thing leading to another.
An early mentor saw to it that John worked every desk in the company: dispatching, materials management, estimating, and cost accounting. This gave him insight into how systems should work together. This is the practical knowledge that is missing in so many businesses.
